Structural Correction

Spinal Remodeling Therapy™
in Lutz, FL

Upper cervical adjustments help restore function. Spinal Remodeling Therapy helps retrain and rebuild the structure behind the problem. For patients seeking long-term correction, this is the next step.

The SRT™ Difference

Correcting More Than Symptoms

Chiropractic adjustments can improve joint motion, reduce pain, and restore nervous system function, but they do not always address the structural changes that developed over years or even decades. Poor posture, abnormal spinal curves, and chronic mechanical stress can continue placing strain on the spine long after symptoms improve.

Spinal Remodeling Therapy™ (SRT™) is our advanced structural rehabilitation program designed to help restore healthier spinal alignment over time. Using customized traction, mirror-image exercises, and targeted rehabilitation, SRT™ works to improve posture, spinal curves, and overall biomechanics. This approach is based on the evidence-based principles of Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®), one of the most extensively researched methods for structural spinal correction.

At Foundation Chiropractic, we often combine Upper Cervical Orthospinology with Spinal Remodeling Therapy™ to address both spinal function and spinal structure. By improving alignment while rehabilitating the spine, our goal is to help patients achieve better posture, improved movement, greater stability, and longer-lasting results.

Conditions Addressed

  • •Loss of cervical lordosis (military neck)
  • •Reverse cervical curve
  • •Forward head posture
  • •Excessive thoracic kyphosis (rounded upper back)
  • •Scoliosis management
  • •Lumbar hypolordosis
  • •Postural collapse from prolonged sitting
  • •Structural changes from old injuries

How SRT™ Works

A Three-Step Approach to Restoring Spinal Structure

Spinal Remodeling Therapy™ combines three complementary components designed to improve spinal alignment over time. The first is specialized spinal traction, which uses customized traction blocks and cervical traction devices to apply a gentle, sustained stretch in the direction opposite your spinal misalignment. Repeated consistently, this approach is designed to improve spinal curves, posture, and the supporting ligaments and soft tissues.

The second component is mirror-image rehabilitation. These customized exercises place your body into the opposite position of your abnormal posture, helping retrain the muscles, ligaments, and nervous system to support a healthier spinal alignment. As strength, endurance, and movement patterns improve, your body becomes better equipped to maintain these structural changes throughout daily life.

The third component is Upper Cervical Orthospinology. While Spinal Remodeling Therapy™ focuses on improving the structure of the spine, precise upper cervical corrections help optimize spinal function and nervous system performance. By combining structural rehabilitation with individualized chiropractic care, SRT™ is designed to create measurable improvements in posture, spinal alignment, and long-term stability.

What Sets SRT™ Apart

  • •Before and after X-rays to measure structural change
  • •Customized traction protocols based on your specific curves
  • •Mirror-image exercises tailored to your posture pattern
  • •Combined with upper cervical adjustments
  • •Progress tracked objectively throughout the program
  • •Evidence-based protocols from Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) research

Structural correction takes consistency, but for the right patient, it can help improve posture, spinal alignment, stability, and long-term function. Schedule a consultation and bring any recent X-rays or imaging so we can review your findings and determine if you’re a candidate.

What the Research Shows

Can a Lost Neck Curve Be Restored?

A healthy neck has a gentle forward curve, called cervical lordosis, which helps distribute the weight of the head and protect the spinal cord and nerves. Years of looking down, old injuries and poor posture can flatten or even reverse that curve.

Research from Chiropractic BioPhysics, the methodology behind Spinal Remodeling Therapy, suggests the curve can be improved. In a randomized trial published in 2022, patients with cervical radiculopathy and a reduced neck curve who received cervical extension traction in addition to standard exercises improved their neck curve, and the improvement was maintained two years later. Their pain also continued to improve over the follow-up period, while the comparison group did not gain curve. The trial was small and came from a single research group, so independent replication is still needed.

Signs You May Have Lost Your Neck Curve

  • •Your ears sit in front of your shoulders when viewed from the side
  • •Constant tension at the base of the skull
  • •Headaches that build through the workday
  • •A hump forming at the base of the neck
  • •Neck pain that keeps coming back
  • •X-rays described as 'straight neck' or 'military neck'

Working With Upper Cervical Care

Why We Pair SRT With Orthospinology

Upper cervical correction and Spinal Remodeling Therapy solve different parts of the same problem. Orthospinology corrects how the head balances on the top of the spine. SRT works on the shape of the spine below it. When the atlas is corrected first, the spine has a balanced foundation to remodel around.

Remodeling takes time because ligaments and discs adapt slowly. Plans typically run for several months, with in-office traction and exercises combined with a home routine. We take follow-up X-rays at planned intervals so you can see objective changes in your curve.
